Old town Senior Portrait Session
I have to brag for a minute about this young guy. Meet Hugo. A talented, smart and determined Senior. I met Hugo about two years ago when my sister joined the local high school dance team. Hugo has such a energetic personality and to say he has many gifts is an understatement. He is President of the High School Pep band, plays both the guitar and trumpet, he is on the high school dance team, sings in the show choir, and is apart of the BPA (Business Professionals of America) team. Not only that, he also works after school for the family business on top of doing school work! To say he stays busy is kind of a given. Yet he always finds the time to look out and help those around him- without being asked.
About two months ago we ordered some cookie dough from my sister during a fundraiser for Grace High School. A few weeks later the cookie dough was ready for delivery, but my sister had that awful Bronchitis/Pneumonia type cold and had been out of school for about a week. I was in no hurry to get it, but a knock came at my door one night and there was Hugo standing there grinning on my front porch. I was quite surprised to see him, but soon realized he was holding our cookie dough order. He said he knew Marina wasn't feeling well so he picked up her order and thought he'd get some of it delivered!
He is an amazing friend, and always has been but this was beyond kind! A young man who thinks of other's before himself is rare, and Hugo is a rare young man. That's not the only occasion that comes to mind.
My youngest brother Nyler (yes, Nyler not Tyler...) called one day and asked if he could come hang out at our house after school. I said yes, and he said he would walk over and be there shortly-it's about four maybe five blocks. When he showed up, he didn't look like he'd been in the cold (which is a surprise- it's winter, Grace is COLD and Nyler never wears a real coat). He said when Hugo heard he was walking to my house, he offered to drive him over instead! This is the complete opposite way of his normal drive home. Not only did Hugo offer to drive him home, but on that short drive, he also stopped to help other cars stuck in the snow along the way! The snow up here has been thick, wet, heavy, and never ending at times. So getting those vehicles OUT was quite the task! He is an amazing young man. Every time I hear a story about him and the acts of kindness he continues to perform, our love for him grows!
This lucky guy gets to graduate in just a few months, so of course we had to make it an adventure for him! We took advantage of our OLD Grace main street, and the fun, character-filled buildings it has to offer, and then we went and got in touch with our "naturey" side.
I'm pretty sure Hugo was wondering where we were taking him as we went mudding in our little cars! Thankfully we didn't get stuck but we did get some pretty incredible images. Hugo made for a fantastic subject- see for yourself! Thank you Hugo for being the fantastic guy that you are! Our family is extremely grateful to know you!
